The Current Hottest Stocks
Running a quick screen on finviz.com I came up with a list of just under 50 of the hottest stocks in terms of performance. I pulled out 4 names at the bottom of the list which are takeover candidates. Here are the criteria:

ETF Filings Portfolio
A thought occurred to me the other day as I was looking at the filings page on the IndexUniverse weekly ETF Watch. It might be interesting to create a portfolio from some of the funds that are in registration. To be clear these funds do no exist (yet) and many of the filings are so old that it is quite clear to me that, assuming they are still active filings, some of the funds will never list but I'd very probably be a buyer of the WisdomTree Chilean Peso ETF if it ever listed. For purposes of this post I won't speculate on the likelihood that any filing will become a fund.

Stock futures rise after Wal-Mart results-
"Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 51 points to 10,324 and S&P 500 futures added 7 points to 1,084.10. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 9.50 points to 1,829.50, after strong earnings reports from retailing giants Wal-Mart and Home Depot and as Potash Corp. announced it had rejected a $38.6 billion takeover bid from BHP Billiton."
